Queen's Diamond Jubilee

The Queen's Diamond Jubilee is to be celebrated in the United Kingdom with a long weekend 2nd - 5th June 2012. The Queen came to the throne on February 6th 1952 and just over a year later the Coronation took place on 2nd June 1953.

The Diamond Jubilee celebrates 60 years on the throne for Queen Elizabeth II and the United Kingdom govenment has announced plans for an extended weekend whereby the late May bank holiday will be delayed until the following week and the Tuesday added as a bank holiday allowing four days of celebrations to take place.
