Games for Dinner Parties and Evening Entertainment

Jolly Good Show Dinner Table Delights Elegantly Entertaining Dinner Distractions

Click here for our full range of After Dinner Games and Trivia

Our Dinner party games, family games, after dinner games, murder mystery evenings and games for groups of friends to play together are fun and add something special to a great evening or to a Christmas party. There are also some children's games to play in groups so that the children can be involved as well.

There is no finer compliment you can pay to friends than to invite them to have dinner with you at your home. Then there is all the trouble you go to in order to make the meal a real treat for them. It is normal also to dress the table with your best china and table linen, candles etc. It is wonderful to be invited and is usually greeted with pride and pleasure. A good deal of the evening will, of course, be taken up by food and conversation, but sometimes it can be fun, entertaining and enjoyable to have other distractions as well, like after dinner games you can play, and of course you can play them before, during or after dinner. Alteratively, for your dinner party games or for family games you might want to theme your evening so that it takes on a particular style or is inspired by a particular type of cuisine.

We have a range of dinner party games and dinner party evening ideas that you can use to entertain and to make your dinner parties even more memorable.

Murder Mystery

A great favourite is the murder mystery evening and we provide a number of new murder mysteries for you to take part in. You give all your guests a role in a murder mystery, and only the person who committed the murder knows that they are the culprit. Of course, it is their role to try to ensure that the blame is laid at someone else's door! The whole evening can revolve around the murder and solving the mystery, and it adds a lot of fun to the evening if everyone dresses to suit the part that they have been given to play. The meal can be either a break from the game or an integral part of it, and how you play that one is up to you. The formal part of the evening ends with all the guests deciding who they think is the culprit and then the revelation itself. There are a number of murder mystery games to choose from all with a different theme. For a maritime theme there's The Porthole Affair, or for the train lovers amongst you there's Dead on Time, for the Circus lovers there's Death in the Ring, and for those that like a mystery on foreign soil there's The Curse of The Mummy. All our muder mystery evenings come with all you need to provide everyone with roles and ensure all the information needed to solve the mystery is available. Of course, there will be those that wish to make finding the right information as difficult as possible. You can really act these games out!

Host Your Own

We have a series of "Host your own" evenings on offer that can take you back to your summer holiday, let you flaunt your knowledge of the music of your favourite era, or just provide you with a perfect opportunity to practise your culinary talents. We have Italian nights, Mexican evenings, Cocktail evenings and more, and then we also have an Elvis night, where you can recreate the atmosphere of the King of Rock 'n' Roll himself, and we have nostalgic 60s, 70s and 80s nights to help you remember, or to test your knowledge of those decades gone by. Dressing up for the evening in the appropriate attire is a must for these evenings and can be great fun and provide plenty of laughs. You can even make a competition of it for the best costume, or maybe in the case of the Elvis evening and the nostalgic evening the best rendition of a famous song. There's no end to the fun you can have when you host your own special evening.

Race Night

For those with other ideas for dinner party games we present Race Night where you use your DVD player to run a series of races and everyone can bet on the outcome. This can be for fun or, if you are daring, even for real!! The races are all recorded actual races but the venues and horse names have been changed so that even the conoisseurs of the race world would struggle to know the results. You get the opportunity to see all the horses and study the form and the race conditions before each race, and then you have the thrill of the race itself and see who can come out on top with the most money after the evening's fun.

Quiz Night

We also have some great after dinner games and family games to test your musical knowledge and to get your guests laughing with each other. Spot the Intro is a great favourite, where you have to try to identify a famous song from just the first line or two. Amazing how difficult some of those can be, even if the songs are really popular and memorable. Infuriating but great fun, and all the family can join in.

To complete the set we have a host your own Pub style Quiz that you can play in teams - family against family, girls against boys, or whatever way you want to play. Great as a family game, but brilliant as a party game or an after dinner game as well, and since you play this in teams you can really have as many people playing this as you like. It comes with a DVD and loads of questions, so there's no shortage of variety and no end to the fun.

Trivia and Table Talk - Party games that act as ice breakers and get the table thinking

Want something to get your guests thinking at the dinner table? Or just playing a dinner party game whilst enjoying a long leisurely dinner? Try After Dark, the perfect conversation stimulant that offers subjects of a controversial or topical nature and asks everyone to put forward their view. There are dozens of these cards in every box but just one or two can keep a discussion going all night. If your dinner party game ideas are a little simpler then there are masses of trivia questions that you can use to test your guests knowledge of a whole series of subjects that we can provide. There's culture vulture questions for those that like their music, art, literature and the like, there's Red Carpet for the followers of celebrity and fashion, and then there's geezer teasers for the blokes - it's easy to keep your guests happy and content when you look for Trivia boxes at So Raise Your Glasses.

Children's Games

It would be so unfair to leave out the children, particularly at Christmas time. So we have a group of children's games that can, of course, be played by adults as well. We have Charades, the perfect childrens game that involves acting out a film, a book, or a TV programme, and the key is that the person trying to convey the title of the book, film or whatever must not speak a word. We have Chattabox, the antidote to Charades. You get a moment to think about an answer when a topic is presented and you have to be first to call out your answer correctly. Whoever thinks and speaks quickest will win. Then there's Up a bit - a drawing game with a twist. So children's games feature large in our portfolio of party games, after dinner games and murder mysteries as well. Have a load of fun this Christmas with So Raise Your Glasses..
