We are keen to offer all the help you might want in the planning of any celebration that you might be considering. You might want to provide a theme for the event that reflects the time when the wedding took place. We can delve back in time for you and identify things that were happening in the early sixties, the fashions of the time or the music that was popular then (see our blog on this subject). We can advise you on what you might need to consider when planning, dependant upon the number of people you have attending, and whether their mobility or other factors might mean that you have to provide special arrangements for them. For any advice or help of any kind, please feel free to contact us
No celebration is complete without a cake and of course the options available for this occasion are numerous. So take a look at our cake decorations and toppers, as well as our beautiful cake ribbons that can carry your personal message around the cake.
We can print personalised Golden Wedding Anniversary banners and cake ribbons to make the celebration personal. These banners can include your names, your 50th anniversary date, and indeed any details you would like us to include.
This is a celebration, not just for the family and friends of today, but of a lifetime of happiness together, and there are a myriad of ways to conjure up images and memories of those years as a part of the day's festivities. A rummage around in old cupboards both at the couple's home and those of close family members will almost certainly uncover a wealth of photographs that span the years. One of the easiest ways of enhancing the recollections that this day brings is to create a montage of all those photographs in chronological sequence, and display them for all to see. What might be a little harder is to identify who all those pictured might be! Another brilliant idea is to collect together some old newspapers (they are easily available online) for the key dates in the couple's marriage, for example, their wedding day, the birth dates for each of their children and grandchildren, or the momentous national and international events across the years that have been defining moments. You could have some of both of these special events that have been seen during the 50 years the couple have been together. and create a display of them all for guests to mull over.
Some have re-created the BBC's 'This Is Your Life' for their parents golden anniversary and this can be an incredible way of marking the event. Easy to include those still close to the family, who met years before, who would be happy to say a few words, but even more spectacular if, with a bit of research, you are able to conjure up some old acquaintances with whom the couple have lost touch and re-unite them. In the process you can create a book that tells the story of their lives together since the day that they first met. A wonderful gift for a 50th anniversary and a keepsake for all time.
